EU calls for airline blacklist
AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
The European Union should create a blacklist for unsafe airlines, it has been claimed.
The European Parliament yesterday (5 September) called for the creation of an EU-wide blacklist of airlines as well as a nothing tolerance policy for those airlines that do not adapted international safety standards. Voices have also been raised in the EU for tighter regulations, especially for low-cost carriers and charter airlines.
There will reportedly be a meeting for national air safety masters in Brussels, Belgium tomorrow (7 September).
