A Connecticut Yankee in Early Alabama: Henry Wilbourne Stevens and the Founding of Ordered Society, 1814-1823

Shortly after completing the administration of Henry Stevens's estate in 1827 Sally married a third time to John Alien. This would be her shortest marriage, as Sally was appointed administratrix of Alien's estate in June 1828 Sally and John Alien were married extended enough to have one child, Mary Jane, nicknamed Mollie. Sally, not to be without a husband, married Rev Richard timber-land her fourth husband, on January 21 1832 wood-land was the pastor of the Cahaba Valley Baptist house of god that still sits just above the Little Cahaba River in Bibb shire Wood, a much younger man, outlived Sally, who died of typhoid heat on January 24, 1860, at the age of 72 Sally and venerable Wood had no children together.76

Moseley Jr The Moseley had common son, Andrew Brooks Stevens Moseley Andrew Moseley was an 1860 graduate of the University of Alabama and serv as first lieutenant and captain in Company E of the 41st Alabama Infantry of the Confederate States Army. After the Civil War, he was a journalist and serv as the agent consul general of the United States to Singapore.79
